This is complete custom work on a table & two chairs. Both were painted with chalk paint and slightly distressed.  The table top was stripped, stained & refinished. I made new seat bottoms and upholstered with new fabric.  The table looks like it dates back to the 70's. The chairs are much older. These are oak chairs. One chair had a date 1956 on the bottom of one seat .  Both chairs are similar but one appears to be older.  The back frame is rough cut and not sanded smooth.  Possibly this chair dates back to the 40's.  The table is perfect for a small breakfast nook or small apartment kitchen it measures 32" X 32."  Please contact me if you are interested.  For Sale $350.00  SOLD!

This is going to be a kids desk.  It is probably from a 1940s - 1950s oak office desk.   It is the lower part of the desk that a type writer would sit on. It's a perfect size for a small kids desk.  The top is painted with chalk paint and I used chalk board paint to paint a small chalk board on the desk top.  We recently  opened an antique business at a local antique mall "Good Old Days" 601 E. Crestwood here in  Victoria where I will have this desk & chair  for sale for SOLD

My new project.

I almost forgot to take any photo's of this old rocker.  It is in pretty bad condition as you can see.  I understand it had been stored in a well house for a very long time. Termites had even ate away at the bottom of the runners. And looks like a dog chewed on them as well. Some time in the past  one runner was removed and replaced. So  the two runners were not matching.  I ordered steamed bent oak runners that are stronger than the ones that are cut out.

I finally have the chair apart and after hours of stripping and sanding I'm ready to start staining the pieces and install new dowel pins.  This week I should be putting the pieces back together and putting the clear coat on.

REMEMBER if you have a project your working on I would love to see it along with any details you have about your project.  Email your photo's & comments to me at vbrooks53@gmail.com and I will post them for you.

I'm a guy who loves restoring old furniture.  Each has a history and you just can't find furniture today built with the same quality.  I encourage everyone not to throw away that old chair, table or desk.  Turn it into a cool project or give it to someone that would love to have it!
